Ode to Wind (inspired by Pablo Neruda’s “Ode to the Storm”)
When the air is quiet
it is a space
only you can fill.
You are wild,
but wise
You leave nothing
unmoved.
In your path
leaves dance when
you pass by
whistling your song.
When you get angry
you’re awesome,
power stuns those
you haven’t blown
away.
You can uproot
trees, houses,
you create change
and tangle my hair,
branches wave to you
birds ride
those who defy you
are destroyed.
