Buc Weatherby is mayor of Shamrock, Texas. The town is home to the tallest water tower in the state. Now there’s a secure fence around the tower, but Weatherby says that wasn’t always the case.
“Back in the early days, some of the high school kids thought it was a pretty big deal to climb the water tower,” he says.
Bill Mack, known for writing “Blue” and “Drinking Champagne” – which George Strait sang – also scaled the water tower when he was in high school.
