This year marks the 100th anniversary of the landmark Paramount Theater in Austin. But it almost didn’t make it this far. The theater faced a near-certain death back in the ’70s, when it was in danger of being demolished to make room for a hotel. But three men — John Bernardoni, Charles Eckerman and Stephen Scott stepped in with plans to restore the theater back to its former glory. Bernardoni speaks with the Standard about saving the historic art space.
