To Train The Workers It Needs, Amazon Partners With Community Colleges

A two-year degree program in cloud computing management focuses on the skills workers need to operate Amazon Web Services.

Technology companies offer high-paying jobs to software engineers and data center workers. But these firms often say they can’t find the people they need to fill these highly skilled positions. Now, some of the biggest firms are working with colleges and universities to design courses and degree programs that match the jobs they have available.

Tech expert Omar Gallaga says Amazon is partnering with community colleges in North Texas to develop a two-year degree in cloud computing management. Amazon Web Services (AWS), a division of Amazon, provides cloud computing infrastructure for large and small companies around the world.
