Baylor has just hired its first-ever E-sports director and coach. The school named Adam Stanley of Brewton-Parker College – a small private college in Georgia and powerhouse in E-sports – to the position.

Austin’s Moontower Comedy Festival set to bring the laughs

This month, one of the biggest comedy festivals in the country is making a return to Texas.  With more than 150 comedians in venues around Austin, the Moontower Comedy Festival has become the premier showcase for comedians’ talent in the Lone Star State.

Michael Yo – a Houston native who performs nationwide and has appeared on “America’s Got Talent,”Joe Rogan’s podcast and scored two Emmy nominations along the way – is one of the comedians set to take the festival stage. He joins the Standard today.

How the Trump tariffs are impacting energy markets

Markets entered a nosedive last week after President Trump’s tariffs went into effect. And while oil and gas imports are exempted from tariffs, we’re still seeing upheaval in energy markets as well. Oil prices tumbled last week, with U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude hitting its lowest price since April 2021.
