Cruz wins third Senate term over Allred
Ted Cruz has secured a third term as Texas’ junior senator after defeating Dallas Congressman Colin Allred by about 9 percentage points. The Republican incumbent spoke at his watch party in downtown Houston Tuesday night. Houston Public Media’s Andrew Schneider reports.
Houston voters reject historic school bond package
The largest school bond proposal in Texas history was rejected Tuesday in Houston, seen by many as a referendum on the state’s takeover of Houston ISD over the past year. The district’s $4.4 billion bond package, divided into Propositions A and B, failed to gain support, with around 60% of voters rejecting both measures.
