Big 12 conference play starts this weekend with Oklahoma State at Texas and TCU at Texas Tech. That was the inspiration for this week’s Typewriter Rodeo poem by Kari Anne Roy.
BIG 12 FOOTBALL
There’s football
And then there’s Big 12 football
Just like there’s chopped steak
And then there’s steak
Just like there’s a burger
And then there’s a Whataburger
Just like there’s beer
And then there’s a concoction of Tito’s and Hawaiian Punch hidden in a Camelback under the leg of your shorts
That’s right folks
Big 12 football is back
And it’s gonna be better than ever
(Depending on who you talk to of course
Depending on whether you like that steak chicken fried or served up raw
Depending on whether you want that burger well done
Depending on just how cold the Tito’s can get)
Big 12 football is back baby
And there’s something
For everyone
To love
