What is the gift
of care?
It says, I will take you
at your most vulnerable,
stubborn, sentimental.
angry, asking “why”
and will save my own “why”
till once you’ve gone to sleep.
It is a phone
never silenced,
the highest love
and the deepest hole
almost impossible
to crawl out of
to fine my own life
again
But what is living but
caring
and losing
hurting
and loving
giving
it all
you’ve got
