Typewriter Rodeo: Fare Thee Well, ‘Fixer Upper’

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

This first episode of the final season of the TV show “Fixer Upper” aired this week. That certainly calls for a poem.

Fare Thee Well, Fixer Upper

The news quite surely has wrecked us

And Magnolia remains the nexus

Where Joanna and Chip

Demo, reno, & flip

Deep in the heart of Texas

The farmhouse begins with a frown

It surely must be a tear down

Let Joanna begin

Uncovering beauty within

No wonder this show’s so renowned

To Fixer Upper Three cheers & a clap

For saving so many homes from being scrap

Trough our losses and gains

One constant remains

An enduring devotion

To shiplap
