Typewriter Rodeo: Mandals

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

It’s hot, it’s humid, it’s the height of summer across the state. That means wardrobes are making a transformation, but today’s poem suggests you might want to spend extra time pondering your footwear before you head into the office on Monday.

Your toes, they work real hard, we know

They take you all across town

And oh, these steamy summer days

Can really get you down

But think on your dear coworkers

When choosing foot attire

Find that happy medium

Between comfort and needing to perspire

Keep those flip flops for the beach

And cover up your toes

Your office mates will thank you

From the bottom of their nose
