Heavy rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for parts of the state over the weekend. Texans also know to keep there eyes and ears out for anything that could be more severe. That was the inspiration for this week’s poem.
SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS
the storms rise
billowing monsters
in the sky
and their beauty is as great
as the threats
they shake down
so we look to our phones
the TV
the sirens
the radios
stashed under beds
waiting
just in case
and when the beeps
the alarms
the wails
the tones
go off so loud
terror abounds
but also excitement
just a bit
because Texas is putting on a show
just make sure your seats
are situated at a safe distance
