Typewriter Rodeo: Sticky Notes

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

Sometimes you just need to write yourself a little reminder — or two — or two dozen. That was the inspiration for this Typewriter Rodeo poem.

STICKY NOOOOOOTES

They’re stuck my desk
And to my screen
There’s five on my fingers
And two inbetween

I’ve got them on my plants
And the arms of my chair
Wait what fluttered down?
Oh — the one in my hair

They keep track of the things
I need to remember
Like that card I forgot
To send last September

Well I’ll just write another
To remind me of that
If only I could find
Where my pen is at

I’ll do one for that too
It’s just one more
And I should go home soon
If I could just find the door…
