Who doesn’t love dogs and their tail-wagging hijinks? This poem gives the perspective of man’s best who’s determined to get what it wants on a hot summer’s day.
Take This Dog for a Walk
Hello, it is me
Dog
And it is the summer time in Texas
Which means these things
We should go for a walk!
But protect my paws from the hot asphalt
And we should go the park
Because I have a very specific ball
that has been requesting to play fetch with me
And mostly
we should go to the lake
Because I have the swimmings and I need a swim
And you will be so happy!
Spending your summer day
Checking out all the new ice cream shops
Scampering around the park playing ball
And getting the Special Pupper
Lake Shake
When I finish my afternoon
Of being a mer-pup.
You’re welcome, for the encouragement
To live your best adventurous life.
Now please rub my belly.
