Typewriter Rodeo: Texas Museums

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

Almost every city in Texas has a museum or historical site of some kind. Whether you’re interested in history or science, there’s something for everyone. That was the inspiration for Typewriter Rodeo’s Sean Petrie as he wrote this week’s poem.

Texas Museums

Oh come with me now

Away we go!

First up to Dallas

To see the Perot!

Where else can you see

Science at it’s best

And test your speed

Against a T. Rex

Then on to Ft. Worth

With art galore

Kimbell, Amon Carter,

The Modern, and more!

Next stop, Houston!

Natural Science, Fine Arts

Spread out like the city

Over so many parts

Then central to Waco

Texas Rangers? None better!

Quench your history thirst

At the first Dr. Pepper

And end it in Ausitn

At the Bullock Texas State

Yeah arts, science, and history

Make us Lone Star-great.
