Typewriter Rodeo: Trampolines

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

What’s better than jumping higher than you ever could with just the power of your legs? When you’re comfortable springing high into the air, why not do a few drops, and tricks? Then bounce even higher!

Tramplines

I can barely remember what it feels like to stand still

Gravity has no bearing on me

I am moon jump and quick flight and laughter upon high

All I want to do is fly fly fly

Each jump brings me higher

Til I’m soaring free

Pulled back down onto the mat

Push, leap, go–such glee

There’s no feeling like the spot when you’re up above

the trees

And your breath catches

time slows down

Oh friends, come jump with me!
