Even as full stay-at-home orders begin to lift, this week’s Typewriter Rodeo poem is a reminder of what many have been through over the past few months.
We’re In This Together
We knead dough
We sew masks
We hide in the shower
We take deep breaths
We clean floors
We stock produce
We titrate drips
We relieve suffering
We deliver the mail
We teach virtual kindergarten
We deliver wine
We process claims
We drive buses
We bag groceries
We wave at neighbors
We walk the dog
We steal a few minutes of solitude
amidst the ever-expanding household chaos
We grasp at connection
and moments of shared laughter
shared stories
new memories
We are
all of us
together
Even as we stay apart
