Typewriter Rodeo: Where Are Your Pants?

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

Some folks just don’t like pants, even in the dead of winter. This Typewriter Rodeo poem is inspired by them.

Where Are Your Pants?

It’s freezing out!
Don’t take a chance
Grab your gloves and coat
Hey — where are your pants?

I mean seriously, dude
Do you think it makes you look tough
To walk around mid-winter
With your legs in the buff?

Or do you only own
One set of jeans?
Do some laundry then
Get those things clean!

When your legs start to freeze
And slowly turn blue
You’ve got no one to blame
Except for you

I hope it was worth it
Not wearing what you should
It’s amazing what we’ll go through
To try and look good.
