Typewriter Rodeo: ‘Working’ From Home

Each week, the Standard reaches out to Austin’s Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem on Texas topics.

Many Texans are out of work right now. Others continue with what’s deemed “essential” business. And some are still trying to maintain duties that used to be done in an office but are now being attempted at home. That third category was the inspiration for this Typewriter Rodeo poem.

“Working” From Home

I just need ten minutes

everyone

just ten

solid

minutes

to get this work done

(Yes, fine, I can grab you the bucket of markers first)

I just need to be

totally

focused

please

(Terra! Down girl! Leave the squirrel alone!)

It’s not a big project

But I do need

to get this back to the client

Before end of business

today

(Ahhh hang on, I’ll get the plunger…)

Okay all —

I need to get on a virtual call

I think

it’s a video call

Help!

Has

anyone

seen

my

pants?

Engage Business Voice Now:

Hi! Great to see you all

Hope you’re all hanging

in

there

Oh things here are

fine

just fine

juuuuuuust tooootally

tooootally

fine.
