UT/Texas Tribune Poll Shows Disconnect Between Texas Voters And State Legislators

The week in Texas politics with The Texas Tribune.

By Kristen CabreraJune 25, 2021 2:26 pm,

Time for a look back at the week in Texas politics with Ross Ramsey, executive editor of The Texas Tribune.

Wendy Davis and the American Civil Liberties Union are suing those involved in the so-called Trump Train. The train was a caravan of supporters of former President Donald Trump who surrounded a Biden campaign tour bus, on which Davis was traveling, while it was on Interstate 35 originally en route to San Marcos, Texas, in 2020. Davis and the ACLU are also suing the city of San Marcos’ director of public safety.

A University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll showed that there aren’t many Texans who believe voter fraud is an issue, which is in stark contrast to what some Republican legislators in Texas purport.

The poll also covered topics such as Texans’ views on bills about so-called permitless carry, immigration and more. See all the results here.
