On Tuesday, Verizon announced the launch of 5G technology in Houston. The fifth generation of wireless technology is expected to increase speeds by 10 to 20 times what it was before. But this technology won’t be available citywide; only in certain districts can users upgrade their phones to ones with 5G capability – that doesn’t include iPhones.
Our technology expert Omar Gallaga is following the 5G rollout, and says consumers shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for access to 5G.
