You see it everywhere around Houston and other Texas cities these days, those drivers who just can’t seem to slow down. Maybe it’s that brand-new sports car weaving on the freeway. Or a pickup truck roaring through the neighborhood. And we’ve all seen the guy who speeds past to try to beat the red light.

In our in-depth feature, we look at the problem of speeding in the Houston region and whether road design encourages people to put the petal to the metal. We talked to the head of HPD’s Traffic Enforcement Division, as well as experts from Rice University’s Kinder Institute and the Texas A&M Transportation Institute.
