If you think you’re suddenly seeing more super-expensive cars on Texas roads, you probably are.  For the last five years, cars that cost over $100,000 have been the fastest growing segment of the auto industry. Think Maseratis, Bugattis, Rolls Royces and the like. Most sell for more than the median home price for the state, and cost over a million. Many of those cars are popping up in Texas. What’s going on here?

Business and technology reporter Mark Dewey has been investigating this for us.  He says there’s been a surge over the past few years.

“They’re still in a boom that (a broker that sells these cars) even described as an excess, and he says the last time he remembers anything like this was in the early ’80s before the oil crash,” Dewey says.

What you’ll hear in this segment:

– Who’s buying these cars
– What’s driving the sales
– Why you’re seeing more in Texas
