Texas Standard’s 10th birthday party at Scholz Garten in Austin
On March 2, we celebrated our birthday with a big bash at Scholz Garten in Austin.
David Brown read a proclamation from the City of Austin declaring the date “Texas Standard Day” and attendees heard from speakers like author Sarah Bird and musician and archivist Veronique Medrano.
The Typewriter Rodeo was on hand writing up free poems on the spot and Erika Wennerstrom of the Heartless Bastards serenaded the crowd to close out the festivities.

Try out our coloring sheet!
For our special broadcast from the Abilene Children’s Arts and Literary Festival, we brought along this fun coloring sheet for the kiddos!
Download it here, and have your little one bring their own artistic interpretation to it! If you tag us on Instagram (@texas_standard) with their creation or send it in with their name, age and city, we may just share it on this page!
