Following the Sutherland Springs slayings, Texas legislator said that according to an advocacy group, perpetrators of domestic violence accounted for more than half of recent mass shootings.

In an email blast to constituents, State Rep. Eddie Rodriguez, an Austin Democrat, wrote that “perpetrators of domestic violence accounted for 54 percent of mass shootings between 2009 and 2016, according to the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety.”
