President Trump wants government websites to be “both usable and beautiful.”

He recently appointed AirBnB cofounder Joe Gebbia, who’s also a veteran of Elon Musk’s DOGE project, to be U.S. chief design officer.

Tech expert Omar Gallaga says it could be awhile before we see changes on government sites.

Highlights from this segment:

– Gebbia has said that government sites should be “as satisfying to use as the Apple store.” He believes that government sites are “broken.”

– Experts advised Gebbia to focus on websites many people use, like IRS.gov, and NIH.gov.

– Security and accessibility are especially important for government sites, experts say, and those considerations will impact how Gebbia and his team redesign existing pages.
