Quarantine Streams: BRB Fest, Virtual Solo Tours And Surprise Album Drops

Deidre Gottlive music producer for KUTX in Austin says there are a few standout events this weekend worth streaming to get your live music fix. After all, Gott says, “the only way we’re getting live music right now is on the internet.”

This Weekend’s “Quarantine Streams”:

BRB Fest: “The weeklong event, which started Monday, brings you two artists each evening with nods to Austin venues like Antone’s, Barracuda and Hotel Vegas,” Gott says.
When: Friday and Saturday, April 24 -25, 8:30 p.m. CST

Who: Friday: Nevil and Sabrina Ellis (lead singer of the bands Sweet Spirit, A Giant Dog and Heart Bones); Saturday: Daniel Francis Doyle and Christelle Bofale.

Erika Wennerstrom (Heartless Bastards): Gott says Wennerstrom’s 2018 debut solo album, “Sweet Unknown,” is beautiful, insightful and highly recommended. It’s about “embracing self-care and the unknown.”
When: Friday, April 24, 5:00 p.m. CST
Where: Heartless Bastard’s Instagram & Facebook pages
What: This event takes the place of a solo tour Wennerstrom was set to start this weekend.

KUTX At Home: John Doe: The Los Angeles punk band X recently released its first new album in 35 years, called “Alphabetland.” KUTX host Jody Denberg chats with X frontman Doe about the surprise album release.
