Live music streams have now become the norm for musicians and there’s no shortage of both free and ticketed concert streams on any given day. As music venues have been forced to adjust their business model, many of them continue to welcome artists into their space, while making the shows available to fans at home.
This weekend’s quarantine streams offer up something for rock, country and jazz fans. And as usual, you can watch them all from the comfort of your couch. Your choices have been curated by Amy Miller Music Director for KXT in North Texas.
“The concert will feature the Texas indie rock icon Ben Kweller, who has released a few new songs this past year and promises a new album soon,” Miller said. “This will be Kweller’s first performance since the beginning of the pandemic and on tap to open for him is songwriter Briston Maroney, who will be coming to you live from his living room in Nashville.”
“Texas native Kacey Musgraves will headline the afternoon,” Miller said. “With six Grammy awards and six Country Music Association awards, Musgraves has established herself as one of the leading voices in country and pop music today.”
Dallas-based organization Jazz BeCuzz will be hosting a free concert music stream as part of its Pretty-Mazing Mini Concerts series.
“Trumpeter Chris Borin has performed with such acts as The Polyphonic Spree, The Temptations, and The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and studied jazz at the renowned music school, the University of North Texas. He’ll be joined in the lineup by current UNT student and bassist, Anthony Cappeto,” Miller said.
