Robo-Cops May Be Closer to Reality Than You’d Think

The technology for home security robots is here – would you use it?

Robocops are coming to home protection but they might look different than you’d imagine – more Wall-E than Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Omar Gallaga, of the Austin American-Statesman’s 512 Tech, we may have security bots in our homes – including a cute one named Riley – sooner than we’d think.

Created by the company Appbot, Riley is a security camera for your home. But Gallaga says the hook for Riley, which runs on wifi, is that you can move it around.

“You can pilot it around like an RC car and set it up like a security camera,” Gallaga says.
