The Nintendo Switch gaming console has spawned big hit titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Now, there’s a new gunslinger in town – a family-friendly game that’s selling big in Japan and could do the same in the U.S. Splatoon 3 is the latest in the popular series of paintball shooter games.

Tech expert Omar Gallaga has been playing Splatoon 3, and he says it’s an example of a lighthearted, attractively designed game that his family loves.

Highlights from this segment:

– Splatoon 3 features teenage octopuses and squids shooting at each other with paintball guns. It’s a polished, well-designed game, Gallaga says.

– The game uses motion controls to allow shooters to change their view as they play.

– So far, the game has sold 3.5 million copies in Japan, outpacing titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
