Chief Cleopatra grew up in Corsicana, Texas, playing in her church band and high school drum line. With a move to Austin, her own music caught the ear of KUTX’s The Breaks. They featured Chief Cleopatra on their annual hip-hop/R&B showcase Summer Jam, and last month, KUTX made her its Artist of the Month.

On her new EP “Luna,” Chief Cleopatra teamed up with Austin’s Walker Lukens and the Bright Light Social Hour. The music is a good reflection of the Austin music scene, blending R&B with psychedelic rock.
