The latest rulings from the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court’s term is nearing its end, with a number of important rulings still yet to be made public. The high court released several decisions this morning, including Moore v. Harper, which concerns the so-called independent state legislature theory. We’ll have details from Erin Busby, clinical professor and co-director of the Supreme Court Clinic at the University of Texas School of Law.

Ascension Seton nurses on strike in Austin

Nurses at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin started a one-day strike this morning. The 900 unionized nurses announced the strike last week, intentionally allowing enough time for Ascension to hire temp nurses to fill in. This is expected to be the largest nurses’ strike in Texas history. KUT’s Olivia Aldridge, who covers health care, has an update.

Hearing today in Fort Worth nuns and bishop lawsuit

A Tarrant County judge will hear arguments in a lawsuit involving a group of Arlington nuns and a Fort Worth bishop today. KERA’s Toluwani Osibamowo reports the case has drawn the support of a prominent Fort Worth philanthropist:
