Every president since Barack Obama has shared one common goal for energy in America: increase domestic production of uranium. But progress has been slow. The United States has ten uranium mines up and operational right now, up from three in 2021, but the fact remains that we’re years away from being a uranium powerhouse. This is why President Trump has issued a number of executive orders to streamline permitting and place tariffs on energy products here in the states. Many of these new investments in uranium are happening in the West – in states like Wyoming, Arizona and Texas.

After long delay, ceremony marks burial of Indigenous remains

Over 100 people gathered around a burial site in Presidio on Nov. 1, but it was not your typical funeral. This ceremony marked the return to the earth of Indigenous remains that had been excavated years prior.
