Brrr

my runny nose

the shivers down my spine

the clogged throat

i promise you it’s fine

i, personally, complained

the summer swelter away

and now i am beholden

to keep my mouth closed

when the temperatures lowered

i was a bit floored

when the frost crept across my windows

i became impressed by the cold

and the moment i could see my breath

i decided to take some rest

the cold will always win

and just today i welcome the change in temps

nested in my sweater

grateful for the peaceful weather
