So far there are 19 presidential hopefuls for 2016, and most of them will make Texas a major stop on their campaign trail. That was the inspiration for this week’s Typewriter Rodeo poem by David Fruchter.

but does it ever stop?
politicians coming to Texas
using BBQ as a prop
their cowboy hats don’t even fit
you can tell they’re here to fake it
the Lone Star State looks good on the news
it’s the only reason they make it
still, Texas is known for our arms open wide
hospitality for all
(though you just might not know it
when they visit the Valley
and talk about building a wall…)
