One thing Texans were certainly thinking about this week: the heat. But sweet frozen treats may be one delight that can inspire folks to venture away from the A/C, at least for a bit. That was the inspiration for this Typewriter Rodeo poem.
Snow Cones in Summer
The heat drips
The sun melts
The air
Your body
Just the day itself
Is so so Heavy
Why would you even want
To leave the a/c
Why would you even want
To move?
Except
You can practically feel
The crunch
You can almost shudder
With the chill of delight
And you can see
A whole rainbow
In a cone
The one thing
That can defeat
The heat
The one thing
That can make you leave
The a/c
Oh you, my sweet cup of cold
I cannot resist
Your crunchy
Call.
