There’s one thing that Texans can always depend on: cities getting bigger, faster. That was the inspiration for Typewriter Rodeo’s Jodi Egerton as she wrote this week’s poem.
Suburban Sprawl
I love my little cul-de-sac
It’s down a tree-lined street
We walk the dog at suppertime
Our neighbors wave and greet
Our suburb is a suburb
Of another suburb fair
We’ve sprawled half way from Plano
To the far edge of Bel Air
Developments and Subdivisions
How our city doth grow
Into this lovely new behemoth
That we call Houst-Dall-ston-tonio
