Are you human? Can you prove it?

AI chatbots have invaded Zoom meetings and Tinder conversations. World ID wants to give platforms a way to know who’s a person and who isn’t.

Can you prove that you’re a human, and not an AI bot?

Many sites have had to face this question, as bots impersonating people have barged into Zoom meetings and bought up concert tickets before real people have a chance.

World ID is a tool co-developed by OpenAI’s Sam Altman. It provides people a way to prove that they’re human.

Highlights from this segment:

– World ID works by having people verify their identity before they connect to partner sites like Zoom or Tinder.

– The World ID Orb is a hardware device that can be used for verification. It’s available for preorder.

– The platform was created in 2019 by Altman, along with Alex Blania and Max Novendstern.
