Our Call

“Will AI take my job?”
I typed that into a language learning model
and was tickled when it responded:
“well, that all depends…
There will be tasks taken over
but critical thinkers will be shielded…
It will concentrate power
in people who know how to wield it.”
And I thought… what a pity.
We’re at the dawning of a new age
where we can benefit from all human knowledge
we could calculate resource distribution
that could end all human suffering
yet we refuse to invest
in the moral infrastructure
AI is a tool, like any other
it reflects the will of its creator
and the strength of its regulators
Ask yourself where your interests lie
in that conversation.
If AI does take our jobs,
do our lives have purpose without labor?
On whose whim are our futures predicated?
Now’s the time we spark our collective imagination
Tomorrow’s not written in code alone…
