To the list of changes COVID-19 has brought to the holiday season we can now add the traditional photo with Santa Claus. This year, parents aren’t generally enthusiastic about having their little ones sit on the lap of a stranger, even if masks or face shields are worn. But fortunately for moms and dads who want to make a Christmas connection to the North Pole, entrepreneurs, including several in Texas, thought ahead and created virtual options.

Tech expert Omar Gallaga recently wrote on Medium about how families are getting some face time with old Saint Nick.

“We’re seeing the rise of Zoom Santa-ing, Skype Santas, of Santas who are recording personalized video greetings,” Gallaga said.

They include Austin-based SantaSnaps and Santa Zoom Visits
