A Facebook post went viral this week claiming, in capital letters, that “the Supreme Court ruled today NO VOTING BY MAIL !!!”

Is that a fact?

Madlin Mekelburg from PolitiFact Texas based at the Austin American-Statesman has the answer. She told Texas Standard host Joy Díaz that there is already confusion and uncertainty about voting by mail because while it is allowed in some states, and in certain circumstances, some people want it expanded because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“There’s a lot we don’t know about what’s actually going to be allowed, and this confusion manifested, as it usually does, in questionable social media posts,” Mekelburg said.
